STATE SENATOR SUE ERRINGTON BACKS LONG THOMPSON FOR GOVERNOR

Errington: Jill is the only candidate who can get Indiana Back on Track

ARGOS, Ind. - State Senator Sue Errington (D-Muncie) today announced she is backing Jill Long Thompson to be the next Governor of Indiana.

Errington joins a growing list of state legislators and local leaders supporting Long Thompson.  Just this week, the campaign announced endorsements from State Senator Connie Sipes (D-Albany), Lake County Sheriff Roy Dominguez, and former State Senator and 1984 Democratic gubernatorial nominee, Wayne Townsend.

"Jill Long Thompson is the only candidate who can get Indiana back on track," said Errington.  "Jill's proven ability to get our economy going again, bolster public education and make health care affordable is exactly what Indiana needs right now."

"I am honored by Senator Errington's endorsement," Long Thompson said.  "She is a real fighter for Indiana's working families and I'm thrilled to have her on my side during this campaign."

First elected to the State Senate in November of 2006, Errington has a long record of public service. She has served on the Delaware County Council, the Mayor's Affirmative Action Task Force, the Mayor's Advisory Committee on Health Education, the City-County Commission Against Domestic Violence, the Delaware County Community Corrections Board and the Muncie Housing Authority.  Errington has also volunteered with local, state and national organizations advancing women's rights and good government including the National Organization for Women (NOW), the Muncie-Delaware County Coalition of Women's Organizations, the League of Women Voters, and American Association of University Women. In 2007 Errington was awarded the Athena Award from the Women in Business Unlimited.

In the State Senate, Errington is a leading proponent of adequately funding Indiana's schools, making college more affordable and making health care more accessible and affordable for all Hoosiers.
